Resilience of the business banking sector
The Group will be concentrating on the evolution of the business banking industry in response to the economic challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change to ensure that the survival and well-being of business is prioritised and the mistakes which left so many business-owners in damaging and unfair situations are not repeated. We will be reviewing responses and encouraging a move towards a strong and diverse business banking market.
Fair Treatment for SMEs
The APPG has made significant progress through a turbulent political period. The announcement of the creation of the BBRS in the Budget in 2018 was a watershed moment and the culmination of 6 years of work of the APPG.
Responding to Net-Zero
In November 2021, the UK will host COP26 in Glasgow. This presents a unique opportunity for the UK – and the UK banking sector – to demonstrate bold leadership and play a central role in catalysing international action on climate change.
